Nadin Reschke was born in the East of Germany, studied in Great Britain and lives and works in Berlin. Her works are created in different transcultural and social contexts and are based on a direct exchange with people that often result in multiple authorships. Her practice explores themes of inclusion/exclusion, attributions of identity, migration, and mobility. In her work, Reschke uses fabrics as a versatile and changeable sculptural material, in order to render identities, collective histories and individual experiences visible. While staying at 1Shanthiroad in Bangalore, Reschke intends to research textile traditions in Karnataka and work with the wider Bangalorean community to develop a collaborative textile installation.
