The Studio/Gallery at 1.Shanthiroad provides space for slide lectures, small conferences, installations, performances, screenings and informal gatherings for artists and the alternative art community.
We have consistently engaged with local artists, writers and creative individuals. We believe in networking and supporting other alternative groups and institutions with similar goals.
We are administrated by a not for profit trust VAC –visual art collective.
We recently curated a collaborative project- REWA - to commemorate fifty years in exile with THINK TIBET and the Tibetan community. This was funded by ANA-ARTS NETWORK ASIA. Singapore.
Our architect Meeta Jain has won an award for designing this innovative and multi dimensional space in 2008. We are honored to have received the Robert Bosch Institutional Grant in 2009.
